Lorraine Bursi Cordera

Lorraine Bursi Cordera of Germantown, TN was born on June 16, 1921 in Memphis, TN to Charles L. Bursi and Josephine Cigalini Bursi. Lorraine passed on January 11, 2015 at the age of 93. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Cordera and her two brothers, Lawrence Bursi and Gene Bursi. She graduated from Catholic High School and Miller-Hawkins Business College. Lorraine worked for Sears and Roebuck Co. and Dixie Greyhound before devoting her life to being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Camille Cordera Dolan of Germantown; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Michelle Cordera of Germantown; four grandchildren, Amelia (Drew) Avery, Kathleen (Drew) Hall, Johnny Cordera, Julianne Cordera and her sister Anita B. Nix. The family will receive guests and friends for sharing of stories and memories on Tuesday, January 13, from 5pm to 8pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm all to be held at Memphis Funeral Home 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 14 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church beginning at 10:00am with burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank Lorraine’s dear care givers, Mae Ola Coger (her best friend for over six years), Julia Gross and the staff of Home Instead Senior Care.
