Willis Lynn Mitchell, Sr., 83, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 19, 2017 after battling an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Clio and Lera Mitchell, two sisters Shirley Johnson and Bobby Jean Moles. He is survived by his sister Margie Buck (Dave), wife of 63 years, Delores, two sons Lynn Jr. (Laura) and Greg (Jan) and daughter Denise Carter (Chris); seven grandchildren Nicole Hollis (Stephan), Courtney Read (Wes), Lindsey, Zachary, Maggie, Paige and Tatum; three great grandchildren Gage, Jackson and Sam.
Lynn was a 1952 graduate of Tech High School. He retired from General Motors and J.M. Smucker Company then became a small business owner. He enjoyed watching his Arkansas Razorbacks, playing golf and most of all family gatherings. He was a long-time member of Bellevue Baptist Church and served faithfully as a deacon and on numerous committees.
Visitation will be 1:00p.m. – 2:00p.m Friday, September 22, 2017 at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar with the funeral service to follow at 2:00p.m. in the north Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park on Poplar following the service.
