Sending my sincere condolences to the family. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Tompkins, he was truly a gentle soul, full of wisdom and always greeted me with such kindness.  It was an honor to have known him. May God continue to comfort Mrs. Gloria, and the entire family.

I was sorry to learn of the death of my Douglass HS 1955 Classmate,
Malvin.  During our 4 yrs of high school together, Malvin was a quiet,
considerate, honorable & worthy friend.  He always gave himself to
worthy causes.  And the love of his life was his longtime wife, Gloria
Jean Jenkins Thompkins, whom he married right out of high school.
I did not see much of Malvin in later years, but I always inquired about him from Gloria, who regularly "zoomed" with the Douglass
Alumni;  sorry that she could not get Malvin to make an appearance,  but I know that his love & thoughts were with us. 
My love and sympathy go out to her and their family.

Grandad, I miss you already. Our talks about family, sports and life will always be something I treasure. So many life lessons you taught me directly and indirectly. You are one of the cornerstones of my manhood and I can’t thank you enough. All the talks, lessons, advice, love, encouragement, listening ear, jokes, check-ins, confides and proud moments all mattered and I’ll never forget them and I’ll never forget you.
