Marilyn C. Wannamaker, age 77, passed away on April 12, 2026. Born and raised in Memphis, Marilyn will be remembered as a gifted painter and instructor who inspired generations of artists. Most recently, Marilyn taught art classes at Memphis Botanic Garden. Marilyn graduated from Bartlett High School and later earned degrees from the University of Memphis.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband, Howard T. Lamb, and daughter, Allison Wannamaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Fred Crowder, and her brother, Gerald L. Crowder.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at Hood Cemetery in Somerville, Tennessee.
