
MARTHA F. NEAL, just 20 days shy of her 95th birthday, has been reunited with her loving husband, Ross, after a short illness. She was a resident of Lake Port Square in Leesburg, FL, and formerly resided in Memphis, TN. Martha was the only child of N.H. and Very Puckett, born June 29, 1916, in Taft, TN, and was a devoted wife, mother, and aunt. She was retired from Goldsmith’s department store in Memphis, TN where she worked in the carpet department. One of her favorite stories was about ordering carpet for Graceland when Elvis was residing there. Martha was a lifetime member of the Women of the Church of Highland Heights Presbyterian Church and was always conscious of God’s grace and will. She is now receiving her reward for her many, many years of service to God and her family. She was predeceased by her parents, and her loving and faithful husband, Ross Stein Neal; her sister-in-law, Edna “Sister” Cotner; and brothers-in-law, Ted Cotner and Charles Williams. She is survived by her wonderful and caring son, John (Terry) Neal; her sister-in-law, Helen Williams; her nieces and nephews, Linda (Jimmy) Taylor, Judy (John) Brickhouse, and Leven (Mary) Williams; her cousin, Marie Callaway; and many great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Ave., with a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778, or Wesley Senior Ministries, 1615 Appling Road, Cordova, TN 38016.
