She was affectionately known as “Martie, Mom or Mamaw” by those who were fortunate to know her. Martie was one tough lady. She was the perfect balance of a strong and independent woman who had a sweet and gentle soul. Martie had strong values and she did everything with honesty and integrity. Her honesty often presented with no filter and her quick wit made her a pleasure to know. Martie worked for over 30 years at Anchor Glass in a demanding job making glass which is a true testament to her strong work ethics. She loved spending time with her family, singing and dancing the bop. And she never turned down a chance to arm wrestle and even recently won an arm wrestle match with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Martie shared three children with the late Claude Pike. Her children are Jackie Morton (Chris), Cathy Elaine Stamm, Claude Curtis Pike (Lane Woodard). She had three grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Tidwell, Steven Logan Allen and Lauren Ashley Ray (Jeremy). Martie leaves six great grandchildren including Peyton Ray, Stephen Michael Cole, Brendon Harris-Allen, Curtis Logan Allen, Lucas Alexander Allen, Landon Ray, and one great, great grandchild named Bennet Ray Robison. Martie had five siblings including the late Wonelle Mildred Ennis, Helen Wastine Baumbaugh and Robert Lloyd Hall. She is survived by her siblings William Douglas Hall (Linda Hall) and Myra Jeanne Doom. Martie doted on all those she loved including her two dogs, Jack and Lacey.
