Matthew Charles Lanier

Matthew Charles Lanier, 41, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born on October 26, 1982 in Memphis, Tennessee, was a graduate of Avon Lenox High School; was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and was in the Joy Class Sunday School.

He is survived by his loving mother, Amanda Lanier, aunt, Becky Boyd (Tim); uncle Bill Lundy (Carmen) and numerous cousins. Matthew had many special caregivers, Helen Boyd, Shai Jackson, Bonnie Jones, Vergie Jackson, Hope Canady and many other special caregivers too numerous to name.

Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Edith Lundy, aunt Mary Wiley, aunt Pam McDaniel, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lanier.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm at Bellevue Baptist Church in Pollard Chapel, 2000 Appling Road, Cordova, Tennessee 38016. A service will follow at 2 pm in the Pollard Chapel at Bellevue. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133 at 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics.
