Maurine James Lang, 98, passed away on January 11, 2017 after a long illness. She was born August 1, 1918 to William F. Hildebrand and Amanda Leona Dyer Hildebrand in Clarkton, Missouri. She was a retired business manager for the Ruch Clinic of Memphis and a member of Second Baptist Church of Memphis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Walter A. James (April 1956) and John H.C. Lang (June 1980); and her son, Jon Ronald James (December 2005).
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Gail James, grandson, Walter A. (Beth) James; great-grandchildren, Devin W. (Samantha) James, William A. James, Barret R. James and David Ronald James and one great-great grandson, Noah James.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 beginning at 12 noon and will continue until service time. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., all in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Gifts in memory of Mrs. Lang may be offered to Second Baptist Church of Memphis, the Lupus Foundation of America Memphis Chapter or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
