Mazel Elizabeth Chandler was born in Camden, TN on March 18, 1931 to Ernest Webb and Della Cole Webb. Mazel passed away at home in Memphis, TN on January 13, 2015 at the age of 83. Mazel was the ultimate homemaker. She was an avid quilter and seamstress, made her daughters clothing when they were younger, and even made her oldest daughters wedding gown. She was skilled at canning most anything that would hold still, and began freezing foods after she got her first freezer. To Mazel, family meant everything. She created a true Clan from a very loving family. They have spent the years standing by each other through thick and thin, while choosing each other as priority over all else. Mazel’s father passed early on in her life which left her mother to care for her children alone. This strength was passed to Mazel and in the end she became the caregiver for her mother along with her own family. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Madelyn Smith, Mildred Shaw and Marie O’Neal; brothers Sebern Webb and Travis Webb. Mazel is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robbie Verdell Chandler; brother, James E. Webb of Huntingdon, TN; daughters, Brenda M. Taylor (Mark), Marilyn K. Chandler and Deborah A. Woodring (Rick); grandchildren, Jonathan Roland (Jennifer), Jason Roland (Jessica) and Derek Woodring (Amanda); great grandchildren, Ashley Roland, Lindsey Roland, Sonya Cohen, Terah Woodring and Logan Woodring; and by numerous nieces and nephews. A time of fellowship and remembrance was held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 4-7pm at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in the Memphis Funeral Home North Chapel beginning at 2:00pm with interment services that followed in Memphis Memory Gardens.
