Melvin(Mike) Thomas York, age 82, passed away January 15, 2019 at Baptist Desoto Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; Melvin and Mary York and his brother, Roger E. York. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Lela W. York; brother, Joel(Stella) J. York; son, Mike (Becky) J. York; daughter, Kathy (Chuck)L. Gault; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mike was a retired inspector for the Memphis Police Dept. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and a true blue Memphis Tiger fan.
Visitation will be January 18, 2019 from 9-10 AM with services following at 10AM at Family Funeral Care Funeral Home, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery on poplar avenue.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be mailed to : St. Jude Research Hospital.
