Michael Gene “Mike” Powell, Sr., 65, died at his home in Collierville, Tennessee on June 19, 2012. Mr. Powell retired from Bailey – Parks Urethane Company. He was a 1965 graduate of Overton High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Central Church in Collierville. Mr. Powell’s family will receive guests and friends on Monday, June 25 from 5PM – 8PM and funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 26 beginning at 11AM all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 5599 Poplar Avenue. Burial with military honors will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery beginning at 1PM. Mr. Powell is survived by his wife of 40 years Marquette Powell; daughter Melissa Powell; son Michael G. Powell, Jr.; sister Heather Powell Cope; brothers Steve Powell, David Powell and Scott Bailey; and granddaughters Jenasis Powell & Lilly Powell – Parrish. Memorials may be made to the West Clinic.
