Nancy Gail Guy

Nancy Gail Merryman Guy, 75, of Germantown, Tennessee passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was ten years old, and along with her husband, Ron, and two daughters, Tammy and Michelle, attended Germantown Baptist Church for almost 50 years. Her faith in the Lord was always the cornerstone of her and her family’s life.

In her early years, Nancy attended Westwood High School and was a Westernette. She met Ron in November 1965 and they fell in love and married on July 3, 1966. Soon afterwards, Ron joined the U.S. Navy and as a devoted wife, Nancy, followed him to California, Florida, and Georgia. It was during these years that their two beautiful daughters Michelle and Tammy were born.

Nancy was not only a devoted wife and mother but a hard working lady, born leader, and excelled at everything she did. While working at First Tennessee Bank, she attended the University of Memphis. She earned her real estate license in 1977, made real estate her full-time job, and continued taking various real estate courses throughout the remaining portion of her career. Helping others was her true passion in life and through real estate, she helped families find not just a “house” but a “home”. She received multiple designations and awards such as serving as President and Vice President of various boards, and even voted by Memphis Association of Realtors as “Realtor Associate of the Year”.

Nancy worked hard but often found time to enjoy life with Ron and the family. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, fishing, and traveling to Europe, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. Her most memorable trip was to Israel, where she traveled with family and she and Ron were baptized in the Jordan River.

She was preceded in death by her father (Clifford Eugene Merryman), her mother (Mary Louise Merryman), and her three brothers: Erle Merryman, Stan Merryman, and Murray Merryman.

Nancy is survived by her spouse of 59 years, Ron M. Guy, daughters: Michelle Guy and Tammy Patrick (Doug), her twin brother: Norman Merryman (Vickie), three grandsons: Tyler Patrick, Tanner Patrick (Chelsea), and Dylan Patrick, one great-granddaughter: Juliet Rose Patrick, and one aunt: Betty Presley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A “Celebration of Life” will start promptly at 12 noon on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Germantown Baptist Church (Parlor Room by Faith Building), 9450 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, Tennessee 38139. Food and fellowship after the service and the release of the doves.
