Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away July 26, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cleveland Acree Jr., her
son Henry Cleveland Acree III, her sister Eva Tompkins, her brothers Merritt and Glover Mathews, and her parents Verna and Olin Mathews. She is survived by her daughters Phyllis A. Mahoney (John), Sandra A. Whitten, and Carolyn Acree. She had four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was born in Franklin, GA. She married Henry Acree and moved to Memphis and lived here for 70 years. A true southern lady, she always put others first. She was always happy to see friends and family and wouldn’t think of letting anyone leave her home hungry . She was loved by many for her sweet and gentle nature. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 28 at Memphis Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A catered reception will be held
Friday, July 29 at Memphis Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a Funeral to follow at 2 p.m.
