

Nell T. Watts, 100, of Memphis, passed away peacefully at her home. Born on July 21, 1917, in Donaldsonville, LA, to the late Frank and Minnie Terry, Nell spent most of her life in Memphis. She graduated from Southside High School, where she met the love of her life, Walter Thomas "Bud" Watts II. Too young to marry legally in Tennessee, they went to Marion, Arkansas and began their life together in 1935. Together, they built their own business, Bud Watts Machinery Company. Nell was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the organ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and special friend to everyone she met. Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her son, Tom Watts; her daughter, Pat Watts Johnson; and her brother, Howard "Binx" Terry. Nell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Candy Watts; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. The family will gather to receive friends on Monday, January 22, between 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., and funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Avenue Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials in her honor should be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
