Norma Jean Wilkinson Godsey, a lifelong Memphian, she was born September 26th, 1934 to John Edward Wilkinson Jr. and Norma Fairfax Thompson Wilkinson. She attended Central High School in Memphis and graduated from Memphis State University with a Master's Degree in General Education. She married William Cole Godsey, M.D. on June 18th, 1958. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Godsey and her son, Robert Dowe. She is survived by two sons, William Godsey and John Godsey; grandson, Thor Godsey and her sister, Mary Ann Wilkinson Cofer. She also leaves three nieces and one nephew. Her life was dedicated to being a co-partner to her husband's psychiatric practice and a mental health advocate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29th from 5-7pm at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. in Memphis. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home.
