Okla Juanita Stavropoulos

Juanita "Jay" Martin Stavropoulos, 83, of Germantown, died January 30, 2012 at Baptist Trinity Hospice. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife and mother, and doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born October 5, 1928 in Russellville, AR, the daughter of Thomas Athel Martin and Ola Harness Martin. Mrs. Stavropoulos was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest George Stavropoulos, and her sister, Peggy Bell Martin. She is survived by her sons, Thomas George Stavropoulos (Linda), Michael Ray Stavropoulos (Tami), and Richard Lee Stavropoulos (Renee'); daughters, Julie Stavropoulos Richards (Harry) and Stacy Stavropoulos Hayes (Michael); 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue, with interment in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
