Pamela Shurley

PAMELA MARIE ABLES SHURLEY. On the 19th of June, 2011 Pamela Ables Shurley left this world to meet her Heavenly Father. She died at her home in Cordova, TN. Those who knew her, understood she regarded all of her friends as family. Her generous spirit made everyone she met, feel that they had always been her friend. A bright, sparkling light has left this world for her eternal home. She is survived by her husband William Robert Shurley III, her son, William Robert Shurley IV, her daughter, Jennifer Shurley Hatchett, her son-in law Anthony Barnett Hatchett, and two granddaughters, Holland Miche’ Hatchett and Keeghan Gray Hatchett. She was the daughter of James Mabry and Geneva Ables of Coxburg, MS, the sister of Sandra Sartin, Grady Ables, Terry Ables, and Barry Ables. Pam was born in Lexington, MS and graduated from Benton Academy in Benton, MS. She attended St. Dominic School of Nursing and MS Delta Jr. College. She married Rob Shurley who took her on a long wonderful journey to California, Washington, and Tennessee. Although she lived many places, her heart always remained in Coxburg, MS. Funeral services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Avenue at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 with visitation from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, MS on June 24 with a graveside service at 3 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Church Health Center, 1210 Peabody, Memphis, TN 38104.
