Patricia Rhodes Lauck (Patsy) passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. She was born in Davidson County, TN on October 12, 1937. She was the only daughter and utmost joy of the late Dennis and Winona Rhodes.
The great pleasure of her life was her family that she loved to watch over. She leaves her sons, Phil (Ally) and Rhod (Deanna), and is preceded in death by her daughter Tonya McDonald and her former husband James P. Lauck, Sr. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and great-grandchildren Will (Dupree) McDonald and their children Trey and Robb, Brittany McDonald, Molly (Riccardo) Marciano, and Rhodes Lauck.
Although not a native Memphian, she moved here at an early age. She fell in love with this city watching the sunsets on her balcony overlooking the river. Whether in Memphis or traveling the globe, she had the ability to connect with people on a personal level. She never met a stranger.
Patsy’s passion for life and love for people was second only to her love of Jesus. She applied the gospel in her daily life through her generosity of spirit, selfishness, and nurturing disposition.
Outside of her family she was regarded as a mother figure. She often put others’ interest ahead of her own. Many will remember her affectionately as NEE, mom, Neeny, patricia Jane, Peppermint Patty, Neeners, and Pat.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 24th at Memphis Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A private funeral and burial will precede the visitation.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Presbyterian Day School.
