

Patricia (“Pitty Pat”) Roberts Vescovo, of Memphis, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, John Sutton Roberts, her mother, Ione Caldwell (“Tootsie”) Roberts, a son, John Richard Vescovo, as well as her former husband, and lifelong friend, Victor C. Vescovo, Sr., who she remained close to until the time of his death. Pitty Pat is survived by her son, Victor C. Vescovo, Jr., her daughter Leslie Vescovo, as well as her granddaughter Mary Carter Webster, along with a large extended family. She was an active member of Calvary Episcopal Church, where she was a member of The Holy Spirit Guild, The Episcopal Church Women and the Daughters of the King. She worked the Fedex/St Jude Golf tournament for 25 years. She was Director of Sales and Catering at the Memphis Botanic Gardens for 19 years and had no plans of retiring, as she loved what she did. Even more, she loved spending time with her children and granddaughter, as well as her large extended family. Every year, she enjoyed her family reunion at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Being the matriarch of the family, she would plan every detail of her family gatherings, ensuring everyone was well fed and entertained. She loved to cook, travel and make others happy. She was truly a special woman who will be missed, and was adored by everyone that knew her. She lived a selfless life, and always put others first. She was full of love, charity, hospitality, beauty, charm, grace and humor. Visitation will be at Memphis Funeral Home on Sunday, September 15th, from 5-8PM. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church on Monday, September 16th, at 11AM. The family requests that donations be made to The Memphis Botanic Gardens or The Ladies of The Guild at Calvary Episcopal Church.
