Phillip is survived by his wife, Harriet Maynard Burton and three sons: Morgan, Matthew, and Samuel. He was 'Pawdaddy' to four beautiful granddaughters: Olivia, Hannah, London, and Haylie. Phillip leaves one brother, Mike Burton (Elaine) and their two sons: Joshua (Megan) and Zachary (Sydney). He is survived also by a mother-in-law, Sue Maynard, a brother-in-law, Hiram Maynard; two sisters-in-law, Sally Damron and Keely Koon; a niece, Mary Alice Koon and nephews, Chandler Koon and Zachary Maynard. Additionally, Phil had many aunts, cousins, and friends he loved.
Phil was a 1974 graduate of Kingsbury High School where he was a percussionist in the band. He had more than 40 years experience in electrical motor repair and retired as General Manager of HMI Electric in 2019. He grew up in Wells Station Baptist Church and was a current member of Bellevue Baptist Church.
Phil enjoyed bluegrass music, roaring fires at Tennessee State Parks and tinkering in his shop. He was always willing to help fix anything for anybody and enjoyed doing it. Because Phil had accepted Jesus as his Savior, we know he is in heaven. Phil was a loving husband and father, a faithful friend and dedicated worker. He will always be in our hearts.
