

Pink Bennett Pratt, Jr., 84, of Memphis, TN, passed away June 17, 2011, at Primacy Healthcare in Memphis. He was an active member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, and an active Boy Scout Troop 221 leader for 44 years. He graduated from Bono School and (then) Arkansas State College in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He was active in Sigma Pi Fraternity, serving as president, and remained active as an alumnus. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan after the war. He had a lengthy career in credit, finance and was business manager for Baptist Hospital for over 10 years. He is survived by son, Pinky Bennett Pratt III and wife Shannon Lyon Pratt of Carrollton, TX; daughter Karen Pratt of Memphis; grandsons Pinky “PB” Bennett Pratt, IV; Glenn Pratt and wife Sarah of Lewisville, TX; Ty and Trey Lyon and Shannon McKamey Pratt of Carrollton; great-granddaughter Violet Pratt of Lewisville; sisters Velcine Howard of Piedmont, OK; and Vera Boyles of Jonesboro, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary McKamey Pratt; parents, Pink Bennett, Sr. and Lena Lakey Pratt; three brothers, Hillis Pratt, Sr., Hardy Pratt, and Howard Pratt; four sisters, Venora Reeves, Veleeta Barnes, Vida Mae Pool, and Velva Pratt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation is Thursday, June 23 at noon at Colonial Park United Methodist Church in Memphis, with the service following at 1 p.m. with Rev. Cecil Bellew and Rev. Joe Piercey officiating. Interment is at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 5330 Park Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
