

Reno E. Greganti, Sr., 94, passed away on June 15, 2015. He was born on February 17, 1921 in Ancona, Italy to Elisa Sabbatini Greganti and D. Henry Greganti. Along with his parents Reno was predeceased by his sister, Marie Greganti Masserano and his brothers, Eugene “Nini” Greganti and Joe Greganti. He was married for 60 years to his wife, Hazel Preston Greganti who passed away in 2002. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from Christian Brother’s High School. Mr. Greganti was a veteran of WWII and was a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps where he served as a Tech Sergeant in the European Theater. Upon returning from the war he joined his father in the shoe repair business at Sabbatini’s Shoe Shop where he worked until 2012. Reno is survived by his seven children: Linda Kelly (Ken) of Memphis, TN, Reno Greganti, Jr. (Katrina) of Arlington, TN, Henry Greganti (Margaret) of Arlington, TN, Michael Greganti of Dallas, TX, Mark Greganti of Palm Springs, CA, John Greganti (Melanie) of Bartlett, TN and Susan Whittington (Matt) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; ten grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will gather at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue on Thursday, June 18 from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening with the Rosary Prayer beginning at seven o’clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 155 Market St., Memphis, TN on Friday, June 19 beginning at half past ten in the morning. Fr. John Hourican will be the celebrant for the service and rosary. Contributions in Reno’s honor may be sent to the Monastery of St. Clare, 1310 Dellwood Avenue, Memphis, TN 38127.
