Richard Laverne Dixon On December 11, 2013, beloved father and grandfather Richard Laverne Dixon went to be with the Lord. He leaves his son Gaspareni Dixon and family, Valerie Dixon, granddaughters, Isabella Dixon, Juliana Dixon and McKenzie Dixon. He also leaves a host of extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Dixon and his parents Louis Dixon and Monelle Dixon. Richard was an accomplished welder whose skills took him all over the United States. Although he was deaf from birth, Richard never let that deter him and ultimately used his skills and ability to obtain special security clearance to work on nuclear submarines. His passions were racing cars and welding. So hand and hand he used his skills to work and enjoy life at the Memphis Motor Sport Parks for many years. Services for Mr. Dixon will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Avenue at 6 p.m. with a visitation from 4 until 6.
