

Richard W. “Dutch” Hegenheiser passed from this life on Sunday, July 28, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones. Richard, born December 29, 1935, was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served valiantly in the Korean Conflict. Richard was the father of two daughters, Kimberly Newana Hegenheiser Williams, of Selmer, Tennessee and Samantha Kay Hegenheiser-Finley, of Memphis, Tennessee. Richard also leaves behind one brother, Armin Paul Hegenheiser, also of Memphis, Tennessee, 6 grandchildren (Amira “Britteny” Hegenheiser, Brenon Harris, Blake Harris, Larry Wallace, Hanna Wallace, and Austin Williams), 3.7 great-grandchildren (Daniel Hegenheiser, Israel Hegenheiser, Cohen Harris, and, soon-to-be-born, Brielle Harris), and two very tall sons-in-law, Derek Finley and Keith Williams. He also leaves behind one very special forever-wife, Kay Hegenheiser Newman, and a forever-sister-in-law, Freda Locke. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 7, beginning at 1 p.m. until the Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m., at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue.
