Robert Wayne Hill

Robert Wayne Hill, 61, of Hernando, went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2012, at Methodist Hospital Germantown. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 and funeral services will follow at 12 Noon, all at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue in Memphis. Interment will follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Forest Hill Irene Road in Memphis. Robert was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and he retired from the Memphis Fire Department where he worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic. A member of Lifepoint Church in Senatobia, MS, he was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting, and he was passionately devoted to his family. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Ed Murphy; his mother, Jean Murphy; and his sister, Marilyn Angel. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dorothy Hathcock Hill; 3 daughters, Angie Polk, Shannon Gamin, and Amy Walters (David); 2 sons, Jamey Watkins and Robert Hill (Peyton); 2 brothers, Andy Murphy and Joe Murphy; his sister, Patricia Stewart;10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
