

Robert Jackson Hollingsworth, born on July 2, 1963, in Amory, Mississippi, passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 62. A beloved and cherished individual, Robert was a resident of Memphis, Tennessee.
Robert's early life was marked by his education at Ole Miss, where he was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He completed his bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Texas-Brownsville.
In his professional career, Robert served as the Director at David Lusk Gallery in Memphis, TN, for 21 years. During his tenure, he worked tirelessly to represent many local and regional artists. He frequently spoke to college classes about professional practices and conducted portfolio reviews. Robert was dedicated to making art appreciation and collection accessible to everyone.
Robert is survived by his husband and partner of 25 years, Ronnie Gilmer; his mother Bettye Parham; his father Jim Hollingsworth and his wife Lourdes; his sister Karen Hollingsworth; his brother Andy Hollingsworth and his wife Dana, as well as his niece Olivia and nephews Jake, Bas and his wife Grace, and Luke.
Robert was an active member of the Memphis Area Master Gardener association since 2009, serving in various roles, including President, and volunteering at the plant sale fundraisers at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens. He was also a member of the American Daffodil Society, where he enjoyed competing and winning numerous awards, such as the “Ellen Davies Rodgers Award” in Memphis for ‘Best Yellow Bloom' in 2019 and the "Mrs. Robert Cartwright Award” in Middle Tennessee for ‘Best Novice Collection’ in 2025, which completed all requirements for him to become an Accredited Judge.
Additionally, Robert was a member of the Friends of the Museum in Oxford, Mississippi, the fundraising arm for the University Museum and Historic Houses at Ole Miss. He served in various roles, most recently as President, successfully leading their largest annual fundraiser, 'Harvest Supper.'
Robert Jackson Hollingsworth will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and his passion for the arts and gardening.
