

Bobby Shelton of Memphis, TN, slipped into the loving arms of Christ on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Sue Shelton; daughter, Debbie Crim and husband Alan (Memphis); grandson, Kris Crim and wife Colby (Southaven, MS); granddaughter, Amanda Rossley and husband Zach (Jacksonville, FL); sister, Elna Crook (Midland, TX); and caretaker Diane (Byhalia, MS). He was preceded in death by his brothers Al Shelton and William Shelton. Bobby was born in Ripley, TN and later attended Humes High School in Memphis. He was a local race car driver from the mid-50’s to late-60’s and spent many nights on the tracks at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, AR and Lakeland Speed Bowl in Lakeland, TN. Bobby was a car salesman by trade and retired after 45 plus years in the business. He and his wife Sue are members of Cherry Road Baptist Church. He and Sue are also members of the Memphis Street Rods car club. Bobby loved his 1935 Ford Truck which he affectionately called Baby Doll. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Family Funeral Care (4925 Summer Avenue in Memphis). Burial will be at Memphis Memory Gardens (6444 Raleigh Lagrange in Memphis). Memorial donations may be made to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center.
