

Robert Norman Shindler, 75, passed away on May 8, 2026. Born on October 12, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, Robert’s life was marked by steady devotion to family, meaningful work, and a generosity of spirit that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Robert graduated from MUS in Memphis and later attended UCLA, where he studied Business Management. Those early years reflected the same determination and resilience that would guide him throughout his life—an enduring willingness to learn, to build, and to meet each new chapter with purpose.
Robert’s professional life was defined by hard work, leadership, and an enterprising vision. He served as Vice President of FTI in Denver, Colorado for 13 years before returning home to Memphis, Tennessee. After moving back, he was featured in the Memphis Business Journal for starting his banking software company, a milestone that spoke to both his drive and his ability to bring ideas to life through persistence and skill.
Beyond his career, Robert was deeply cherished for the warmth he brought to everyday moments. He enjoyed snow skiing with his family and took particular pride in watching his sons ski competitively. He loved going to Memphis Grizzlies games, enjoyed music and cooking, and most of all valued time spent with those he loved. Even in ordinary settings, his humor and kind-hearted presence had a way of drawing people close and making them feel at ease.
Robert was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather whose steady care and generous nature shaped the lives around him. He is survived by his sons, Robert Ashley Shindler (Erin) and Jon Shindler; his grandchildren, Robert Alexander Shindler and Ashley Shindler; his wife, Laura Sue Shindler and his sister, Lynda Dionne.
A loving father and grandfather, Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and remembered with gratitude, respect, and enduring affection.
