Robert Harris Walton Sr.

Robert Harris Walton, born on January 31, 1933, in Bolivar, Tennessee, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on August 7, 2025, at the age of 92. Son of Charles Albert Walton and Mabel Irene Shinault Walton, Robert spent his later years in Bolivar, where he was cherished by family and friends alike.

Faith and Family: A devoted family man, Robert’s life was anchored in faith and love for those around him. He was admired for his integrity, kindness, and generosity. He served as a Deacon at Brunswick Baptist Church and was a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church. Robert drew strength from reading his Bible and found peace in the beauty of the outdoors.

A Life Shared: On December 14, 1956, Robert married Bonnie Mae Gadd, with whom he shared a loving partnership until her passing in 2012. Their relationship, founded on Christian values, love, and deep affection, shaped the upbringing of their five children. Robert graduated from Bolivar High School in 1952 and later earned a Bachelor of Science from Memphis State University in 1964. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as the Superintendent of Building Maintenance at MLG&W until his retirement.

Family Legacy: Robert is survived by his children: Brenda Owens (Danny) and Tim Walton (Susan), both of Collierville, and Genie Dorman (Phil) of Lakeland. He leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren—Jennifer, Marsha, Matthew, Nathaniel, Zachary, Ryan, Kelsie, Addison, Kennedy, and Gavin—and great-grandchildren Lily, Eden, Kaden, and Lynnly Mae. His siblings Margaret Vance, Fred Walton (Barbara), Thomas Walton, and Janie Jones also survive him.

He is joyfully reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Bonnie Mae, his son Bob, his daughter Mary, and siblings Opal, Charles, Jimmy, William, Frank, Joe, and Ted.

A visitation for Robert will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Parrans Chapel Baptist Church, 9400 Old Hwy 64, Bolivar, TN 38008. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 9400 Old Hwy 64, Bolivar, TN 38008. A committal service will occur Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Parrans Chapel Church Cemetery, 9400 Old Hwy 64, Bolivar, TN 38008.
