Ronnye Bolton Werner of Eads, TN passed away at home on December 7, 2020 after a long and difficult battle with cancer. Ronnye was born March 8, 1944 in Greenville, MS. Ronnye is preceded in death by her mother Bettye Langham Bolton and her father Boyce Brooks Bolton.
Ronnye was a graduate of Central High School and attended Memphis State University. Ronnye was a devoted wife for 47 years to Dr. Stanley P. Werner. Ronnye was blessed to share many adventures of camping, diving, racing, boating and flying with Stan as her Captain and Ronnye as the willing and encouraging Co-Captain. Ronnye’s playful and fun spirit touched so many and was kept ever present through her adoration for her many fur children. “Love Ronnye….love her dogs….wolf, raccoon, and peacocks”. Ronnye’s love of Christ was evident through her life, service, generosity and eagerness to share His word with others.
Ronnye volunteered with the Red Cross, was a member of the Alter Guild and the Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League at her church, Faith Lutheran Church in Collierville, TN. She was involved with a literacy program teaching adults to read, assisting women who had had reconstructive surgery, and helping others find forever homes for animals. Ronnye was a handgun instructor for Range Master and a passionate patriot and Southerner. She used to say “American by birth, Southern by the Grace of God.”
Ronnye is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Dr. Stanley P. Werner; her children through her marriage to Stan; Dr. Scott P. Werner, his wife Mary Angela and their children Sam and Mary Katherine, Dr. Kelly W. Bridges, her husband Bob Bridges and her children Natalie von Tagen (Tyler), Alaina Grace Beck and Nicholas Beck. Additionally, Ronnye is survived by her sisters Bettye F. Murphey and Heather B. Bennett as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. Ronnye will be greatly missed to all who knew and loved her. To those who loved her, we are better people because of her influence, prayers and the passion she shared for the Lord with each of us.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 10th at Memphis Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 and a service the following day at 1:00 (5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis TN). Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
