Rose Marie Houston, 78, of Ashland, MS, formerly of Memphis, passed away on January 9, 2016. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, between 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. Interment will be in the Bethuel Cemetery in Millington. Mrs. Houston was an avid Memphis Tigers Fan, loved to work in the garden, tell stories, fish, and spend time with the family she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Carl Houston; two daughters, Quintina Houston and Rhonda Houston Keele; and her grandson, Charles Christopher “Chuck” Houston. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Lee King and Peppa Houston (Tony); her son, Claud D. “Bubba” Houston; five sisters, Pearl Terry, Pat Mulford, Dorothy Berryhill, Daisy Douglas, and Faye Govea; three brothers, Robert Pitts, David Pitts, and Bill Pitts; twelve grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
