Ruth M. Maxwell Campbell

Ruth Maxwell Campbell, 93, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Methodist Hospice in Memphis. She was born May 10, 1919 in Middleton, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy R. Campbell, her parents Gertrude S. and William O. Maxwell, her daughter, Marilyn Campbell Gordon, her sister Liggie Dickson, and her brothers, Everett Maxwell and Malcolm Maxwell. She is survived by her sister, Frances M. Baker of Bolivar, TN, her son-in-law James A. Gordon, her granddaughters Leigh Gordon Wright (Chris) and Nancy Gordon Russell (Andy), both of Franklin, TN, her great-grandchildren, Allie & John Wright and Morgan & Natalie Russell, and her cousin and caregiver, Elizabeth Collier of Memphis. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Memphis and Bolivar, TN. Ruth was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and had been a longtime member of Bartlett United Methodist Church and Springdale United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at Melrose Cemetery in Whiteville, Tennessee on Thursday, March 28 beginning at 1PM. Any memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
