Ruth W. Dacus

Ruth Williams Dacus went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the age of 90. She loved and was loved dearly by those around her. She had an infectious smile that made everyone feel good to be around her. All who knew her felt blessed to have such a kind person in their lives. She had a beautiful singing voice that she used as an instrument to praise the Lord and share His story through her song. Ruth beat the grips of death many, many times over her 90 years, because it was not yet her time; she still had too much to share with us all. She now lives and celebrates in Heaven with the Lord, her husband of many years (Carl Dacus), other family members and friends that went Home before her. She leaves two daughters Carla Bingham, Terri Davis and their families, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will gather to receive friends on Friday, June 2, beginning at 1:00 p.m., until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Avenue Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the burial, the family will gather in the Life Remembrance Center at Memphis Funeral Home for light refreshments and time to share with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
