Sandra Pilgrim Peterson, 72, of Eads, TN passed away in the presence of her family at home, escaping the pain of cancer that destroyed her earthly body and went toward the light to be with her Holy Father on July 31, 2019.She was born in Quitman MS on April 17, 1947 to her late parents, Connie P. and Katie W. Pilgrim, and raised in Memphis TN. She was a 1965 graduate of Kingsbury High School. She retired from the Fayette County Chancery Court in June, 2012.
An accomplished student of piano and voice at Southwestern (Rhodes) College in her teen years, she gave up a voice scholarship to Blue Mountain College to wed Harry M. Peterson on June 26, 1965. Her passion was her family, gardening and her love for her Lord Jesus Christ. She was an example of what it really is to be a dedicated spouse, parent and friend to so many people throughout her life.
Sandra leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Harry; daughters, Cindy Miller (Michael) of Somerville, TN, Christy Bosley (Melvin) of Memphis, TN, and Caryn Adair of Eads, TN.; grandsons, Alec Miller (Alissa) of Chattanooga, TN, Ryan Miller (Briana) of Memphis, TN, Genesis Bosley of Memphis, TN; granddaughters, Madison Powell (Benton) of Hickory Valley, TN, Isabel Adair and Lily Adair of Savannah, TX and great-granddaughter, Collins Powell of Hickory Valley, TN. In addition, she leaves her mother-in-law, Martha Peterson; brother and sister-law, Mike and Becky Peterson; sister-in-law, Charlotte Peterson; nephews, Jay (Stacey) Peterson and Allen (Stephani) Peterson; her dear and loving friend of 36 years, Ulrika Troedsson - Hasselgren of Huarod, Sweden.
Family will receive friends from 11:00a.m. until service time at1:00p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at First Baptist Church-Fisherville, 11893 Macon Rd., Eads, TN. Sandra will be buried at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3700 North Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN.
