Sharon Lavee Boyd, age 78, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Sharon was born November 18, 1942 in Memphis, TN to Rev. Frank Chester Masserano and Iris Viehe Masserano. She graduated from Humes High School in 1960, where she played in the school band. Following her high school graduation, she attended the University of Memphis. She married John Wilson Boyd on August 14, 1971. She worked as a secretary for several companies in Memphis serving the longest period of time with Pontiac and General Motors.
She grew up helping her father and mother in their church, Bethel Assembly, playing the piano and organ, singing, and teaching Sunday school. She later attended First Assembly of God of Memphis and finally attended Bartlett United Methodist Church, so her husband could return to the church of his youth during his latter days. She was a longtime supporter of International Ministerial Fellowship and the Assemblies of God churches that her brother-in-law and nephews pastored. She enjoyed hosting large family holiday gatherings, and the most important thing to her was that her children and grandchildren knew and loved Jesus Christ.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Bryan Shawn Boyd and John Calvin Boyd (Robin); grandchildren, John Wilson Boyd and Brady Lynn Boyd; brother, Frank C. Masserano, Jr. (Carol); sister, Carole M. Yarbrough (Rev. W. H.); sister-in-law, Lillian F. Boyd; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wilson Boyd; her parents and sister, JoAn McCray.
