Thomas Melvin Blumer

Thomas Melvin Blumer passed away on July 19, 2016. He was born on June 13, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to Melvin Marvin Blumer and Marian Hazel Blumer, Tom was a graduate of Cambridge HS in Cambridge, MN before enlisting in the U. S. Navy in 1965 where he served at Millington Navel Base and Iceland. While serving in Millington, Tom met his future wife Margaret Ann and decided to stay in the Memphis Area. Tom worked and retired from the Memphis Fire Dept. where he served for 33 years reaching the rank of Lieutenant.

Tom is survived by his wife Margaret Ann; his children, Stephanie Hart (Vernon), Matt Blumer, Katie Heady (Tommy), Eric (Cortney), Rusty Tankersley (Andrea) and Debbie Crum; 3 brothers, Michael (Linda), Raymond (Patty) and Ellard; 1 sister Ruth Neil; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Marian Blumer, 2 brothers Melvin and Jack and two sisters Mary Ann and Connie.

Visitation will be at Trinity Baptist Church Cordova, TN, Saturday July 23 at 10am-12pm followed by the funeral service at 12pm. Graveside service will be at Memorial Gardens on Germantown parkway in Bartlett, TN.
