Tommy leaves his Wife Samantha, his parents Michael and Jane Musso, his brother Todd Musso (Nicole), his nieces Shaylee, Ensley and Sadie, his brother Bobby Perry (Stephanie), his nephew Tony and his niece Christina, his sister-in-law Tabatha McClain (Adam) and his nephew Grady.
Tommy attended Craigmont High School and worked for Snell's Limbs and Braces in his late teens and early 20s. In May, 1990, he met his future Wife Samantha through a co-worker. They spoke on the phone for an hour before they met in person. For their first date, Samantha scored tickets to Aerosmith at the Mid South Coliseum. While becoming best friends and falling in love, they enjoyed going to the movies. Tommy could tell you just about anything about any movie. His Dad had started him early taking him to movies at the Raleigh Springs Mall. Tommy "caught his big break" when he went to a casting call for Walk The Line which was filmed at the Fairgrounds. The director picked him out specifically to portray a prisoner; if you got it, flaunt it! When Tommy and Samantha went to see the movie in theaters, they were both surprised to see that Tommy had a close up. He had a great day filming that scene. He was so excited to be in a movie.
In 2000, Tommy and Samantha were married after "making sure" they were meant for each other for 10 years. They honeymooned in Orlando visiting all the Disney Parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and Sea World. They had the best time! Their honeymoon was during Halloween so they attended Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. If anyone knows how to do horror, it is Universal. Tommy loved horror movies. Since Samantha was such a scaredy cat, Tommy laughed hysterically as Samantha screamed while being followed by the scary characters.
Tommy also loved riding roller coasters. The higher and faster, the better. Tommy and Samantha made a trip to Cedar Point in Michigan, the capital of roller coasters, with a group of friends. He rode just about everything...he was like a kid!
Tommy loved his city and made a decision to get involved. He joined the Coliseum Coalition whose main goal, at the time, was to keep the Mid South Coliseum from being demolished. They were successful. Tommy helped to organize several events to bring attention to the building and their cause. He loved doing that so much!
After making friends through these events, Tommy and Samantha would attend comedy shows and local concerts. Tommy was known by several of the local comedians and even volunteered for the Memphis Comedy Festival. He enjoyed being a part of different groups and helping where he could. Tommy and Samantha, being the lovers of movies, got wind of Time Warp Drive-In...older movies shown at the Summer Drive-In. They knew this place well because they attended movies there often. They Loved Movies!
Tommy's health started to decline and he was unable to work outside of the home. He decided to sell items on Ebay. It was very important to take perfect pictures of the items, give the descriptions and ship the items as soon as possible. This was a great fit for him.
Another of Tommy's loves were his pets. Tommy and Samantha had 2 cats, China and Hilda, that they lost about 20+ years ago. After them, came Pugsley...Tommy's best buddy. Not long after Pugsley, they got Wednesday, a little Pomerian, a yapper. Then one night on the way home from dinner, Tommy spotted a dog wandering around an abandoned house. He could not let that stand. He eventually trapped her in a cage after luring her with chicken nuggets. They took her home and named her Felicia...Tommy's girlfriend as he would tell her. We lost Wednesday in August, 2018 and lost Pugsley in November, 2019. These were devastating to Tommy and Samantha but Felicia is a great grief counselor.
Tommy lived a great life with a loving Wife and Family and a great group of friends. He is so loved and will be greatly missed.
