Vennie Sue Patton

Vennie Sue Gowan Patton was born on December 2, 1931, in Murray, Kentucky. She passed away on May 19, 2016. She grew up in the area and attended and graduated from Trezevant High School She married Jimmie Patton in July of 1950. She spent most of her married life in Memphis, TN, where she and Jimmy raised two sons. She and Jimmy were married for 43 years. She retired from Cottonwood Heights Daycare. She moved to Olive Branch, MS in 2004. She was a faithful member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church in Collierville, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents Flexis and Hallie Gowan her husband, Jimmy, and a sister, Marian Harmon. She is survived by her sons, Donald Keith Patton (Geri), Kenneth Dale Patton (Yenlan) as well as 6 grandchildren: Andrew, Christopher, MacKenzie, Meghan, Davian and Caleb Patton. She is also survived by 1 sister, Jane Hurley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering and catered reception will be held Saturday, May 21st at Memphis Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm. A service will be Sunday, May 22 at CrossRoads United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Vennie may be offered to CrossRoads United Methodist Church(9315 East Shelby Drive Collierville, TN 38017)
