She leaves behind her daughter Heather (Jim), her son Michael (Alexandria), and her cherished granddaughter Emma. But anyone who knew Ginny knows that her definition of family went far beyond biology. She also leaves behind a host of beloved “borrowed” children and grandchildren, as well as lifelong best friends who were family in every way that mattered.
Ginny’s faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life. If she knew you and loved you — you were hers.
To say Ginny had a one-of-a-kind personality would be an understatement. Her expressions could speak volumes (and occasionally leave you guessing), but her love, respect, kindness, and unmistakable sense of humor always shone through. She lived life out loud, and with heart.
Ginny was an incredible cook — just announcing her menu was enough to fill a house, and never accuse her of cooking store bought meatballs, just ask Jim. That said, some of her more adventurous ideas did make Kat raise an eyebrow more than once!
I’m Kat, and I met Ginny over 23 years ago — when I was pregnant with one of her many “borrowed” kids, Shawn. Fittingly, just before her passing, Shawn had the chance to introduce his own baby to Ginny over FaceTime. A beautiful full-circle moment.
Ginny was a hard worker and had a flair for creativity. Whether she was treasure-hunting at yard sales with her favorite partner-in-crime Joey, crocheting, arranging flowers, or diving into one of her many hobbies, she did it all with unmistakable style and spark.
We were the lucky ones — those of us who got to know her, love her, and be loved by her.
Fly high, Ginny. We know you're watching over us with that unforgettable smile. Your legacy lives on in every story, every laugh, and every dish we share in your honor. Until we meet again.
A private memorial to honor Ginny’s life will be planned and shared with loved ones soon.
