Wavel E. Hughes, 79, of Millington passed away February 7, 2016. Wavel was born in Bells, TN on July 10, 1936. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Ron Hughes who preceded her in death in 2010. She was employed at Memphis Area Teachers Credit. She is survived by her sisters, Glenda Stewart and Betty Cobb, four children, Dana R. Stine, Pamela McCloskey, Teri Allen, and Kyle Hughes, 6 grandchildren, David Stine, Steven Stine, Laura Stine, Anna Cummings, Ashley Joiner and Niki Johnson and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10 at the funeral home with burial at Memphis Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alzheimer’s Association.
