Lieutenant Colonel William Kenton Adams passed away September 14, 2021 at his home in New Jersey. He was the son of Rev. William G. Adams and Manette Grace Adams. Kenton was born in Mayfield, KY on November 4, 1937. He graduated from Lone Oak High School and Murray State University. After college he served 20 Years in the US Army. While in the military he served in Kansas, Missouri, Korea, Germany, Tennessee, Greenland, and Fort Knox. He attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. During the Vietnam war he served as an artillery spotter. Kenton received many awards for his military service including a Bronze Star for valor in combat.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly Cursey Adams, grandparents Cecil and Clara Adams, and Kenton and Johnny Grace.
He leaves beloved daughter Jenifer Rogers (Christopher), grandson Michael Logan Rogers, two brothers Dr. Earl Adams and Walter Adams, brother-in-law Bob Cursey (Dianne), nephew Rob Cursey, nieces Shannon Raines, Tracey Adams, Dr. Julie Steinmann, nephews Drs. David and Stephen Adams as well as many cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 1 P.M. in Obion County Memorial Garden in Union City, with Rev. Susan Eagle officiating.
