With heartfelt sympathy and the promise of prayers for comfort during this difficult time to my good friend and next door neighbor, Dave. I will always miss his thoughtful ways and cherish our good memories about Vietnam where I performed as a musician at US Military Bases during the Vietnam War.
May he rest in peace in his Eternal Abode!🙏

Charles was a valued member of our/Tuesday Morning Menifee Veterans Group for a number of years and he will be greatly missed.  He was someone who said his mind and always had a comment about anything that the was subject of conversation.  We, as Veterans, are brothers, and as Vietnam Veterans, we are special types of brothers because of what we endured both in Vietnam and when we returned home from Vietnam.  When we returned home, most of us married, raised families, finished school, went to work or started businesses.  It took years before we were recognized for our service in Vietnam, but thankfully we eventually were, starting several years ago.  Charles attended our Tuesday Morning Veteran Meetings regularly, but several weeks ago he started missing meetings, and I received a message from his daughter Sherry that he was very ill and would not be able to attend any longer.  One of the members of our group talked to Charles and found out that he was in hospice, had liver cancer and he did not have long to live.  We were all very sorry to hear about this and planned to go to see Charles, however, he declined our request for a visit.  We sent a card to Charles and a few days later I sent a picture of Charles happily holding a raffle prize he had won at one of our Veteran Meetings. His daughter sent me back a message thanking me for the picture and telling me that Charles had passed away a few days before she received the picture.  That is the way I want to remember Charles, smiling and happy to be a Veteran member of our group of Veterans.  Rest in Peace, Charles, you will never be forgotten.  My Condolences to his family and his friends.

Dave, we will miss your company at our table for the Oasis Garage Band at which you were a great dancer especially when they played "Mustang Sally" that reminded you of Sue.  Sometimes you would come over our home for a haircut, a cup of coffee and talk about your Vietnams days with fellow Vietnam Vet, Steve. Then lastly you were 
our Ubber driver for the wineries in Temecula. We had the privilege of your company and will cherish the memories.

Most of my life, Dave (and Sue) came up to Oregon for the 4th of July to see my grandma and grandpa and the family here. I’m so grateful we got to see him last year for the 4th. 

He is missed dearly.

My sincere condolences to the Family. My name is Charles Capers and I know Dave from Menifee Lakes Country Club. Dave would come over and listen to music, chat and have his morning coffee with us workers. A true Gentleman Dave was and it was an Honor to know him.

Charles. "David", was a valuable  member  of our vietnam veterans  group at the  temecula vet center  for many years! I sat next to Dave and enjoyed his brotherhood that he shared weekly with his many stories of enjoyment of a fan of good Ole rock& roll and those whom he danced with at the Oasis and other party venue's! Dave's  colorful language will be missed, as he was  at peace with himself.  He was also a member of the Tuesday veterans menifee breakfast group  that meet weekly. RIP, my Army warrior brother!
