

Curtis “Ray” Dean, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home on March 25, 2026 at the age of 78. Ray was born on January 31, 1948, in Chatfield, Arkansas.
Ray’s adolescence was spent partially in Mendota, California, and ultimately settling in Norco, California. Ray fondly recalled his adventurous youth in Mendota, where, at just eleven years old, he was entrusted with driving a cantaloupe truck, a testament to his early sense of responsibility and strong work ethic, being the eldest of four brothers. At age 17, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he displayed his acts of valor in the Vietnam War.
Ray was predeceased by his brothers, Donny Dean and Bruce Dean, his father, Lock Dean, and his mother, Louise Dean.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Dean, his son, Curtis Dean, JR., his daughters, Sarah Dean, Jera Dean, and her spouse Marcos Rodriguez, and Kala Dean-Knoblach and her spouse John Knoblach; and stepdaughter, Paula Valdez. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were very loved and will miss him dearly.
Ray’s legacy is one of resilience, humor, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He leaves behind a family who adored him, who cherished his stories and his spirit. His life was a tapestry of rich experiences and profound love, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
