Donna Gail Cohen

Donna was the heart of our family. She married Harvey Lewis Cohen in 1956 and they had a wonderful partnership that spanned 5 decades until Harvey's passing in 2006. Their bond was one of enduring strength and affection, a testament to their deep and abiding love. Together Donna and Harvey raised 3 wonderful daughters, Robbin, Abby and Allison in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults.

Donna was a doting and devoted grandmother to her 9 cherished grandchildren: Lauren, Alex, Zachary, Tyler, Sean, Jeremy, Nina, Dustin and Trent. She took so much delight in hearing about their accomplishments and was always there to offer boundless love and encouragement which was such a source of comfort to all her grandchildren.

In addition to being a grandmother, Donna was also a great grandmother to 14 great grandchildren which also meant the world to her: Jack, Sloan, Dean, Emerson, Eloise, Michael, Kyle, Claire, Emily, Rielly, McKenna, Jackson, Kaidyn and Brooklyn. Watching them grow and giving them all her love and affection brought her so much joy and she made sure all her grandchildren and great grandchildren felt this love.

Donna's affinity to be nurturing and warm can be seen in her true passion which was gardening. She had such a green thumb the way she nurtured the plants in her garden. She had that magic wand that could make anything bloom. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where her spirit blossomed alongside the flowers. She also was an avid sports fan and deeply loved basketball and football especially the Lakers and Chargers creating just one more avenue to easily connect with her with these diverse interests.

Donna had such a kind heart and hearty laugh. There was something about the way you could go to her if you needed advice, love and support and she would make you feel "renewed" again like everything was going to be okay. Her positive attitude and ability to show such empathy made her such a beacon of light for everyone who came in contact with her. Donna's legacy of love, kindness and positivity wil forever live on in our hearts. She will be deeply missed but always remembered.
