Jaeger was born in Hemet, California, on May 15, 1974 and he entered eternal life on October 11, 2023. Jaeger was an integral part of the San Jacinto-Hemet Valley and he had recently moved to Howard, South Dakota to become an exciting presence in that community, as well.
During his younger years, Jaeger performed many roles in the Ramona Pageant. He played soccer and lettered at Hemet High School in that sport. He swam on the Dolphin Swim Team. Jaeger earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout with Three Palms in the Boy Scouts. His culminating project was installing the seating in the amphitheater for the Riverside National Cemetery. He was involved with Valley Wide Parks and Recreation. He learned to love the Hemet-San Jacinto community spirit and continuously supported these passions.
After graduating Hemet High School, Jaeger attended the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1996. For the following year, he participated in a training program that had him working at many privately owned funeral homes throughout the United States and Mexico. He learned the diversity of service provided in the funeral profession. He returned to the valley he loved to work at his family-owned funeral home, Miller-Jones Mortuary, servicing Perris and Moreno Valley. Jaeger was an intricate part of growing the Miller-Jones Mortuaries and Menifee Valley Cemetery.
Jaeger loved giving back to the communities he grew up in. He was on several boards and he was the President of the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce. He was always grilling hamburgers, chicken and tri-tip in support of fundraising for churches, hospitals, hospices, convalescent homes, shuffleboard groups, Night Out Against Crime and for family and friends.
He had an infectious laugh and with his outgoing personality, he was a friend to everyone. When Jaeger was in attendance, there was always laughter, kindness, fellowship, and support of each other. When Jaeger was in the room, everyone had a good time and by the time he left, everyone there were friends. He was dedicated to making his valley strong and successful.
Jaeger thrived outdoors! He loved to go to the desert with family and friends. He was often seen at the family’s home in Oceanside. Off-roading and participating on race teams was a thrill for him; he even had race cars of his own to compete anywhere from the oval track at Perris Speedway to the dirt down in Mexico. He hosted annual trips to the family ranch in South Dakota for hunting pheasant, or he would work on the land for some tractor therapy and relaxation. Jaeger also had many adventures on the ski slopes and sailing over to Catalina on father-son trips. He spent many hours with his children at RC tracks, going to the beach and riding motorcycles. Jaeger was so proud of his children and shared stories of their accomplishments every chance he got.
Always the adventure, Most recently Jaeger went back to his childhood and began to take up fishing again. He would spend hours down at the river in Wyoming.
Jaeger is survived by his parents, Nick and Charlotte Jones, his three children Joscelin, Jeren and Judsen Jones, his brother Hamilton (Kimberly) Jones, his nephew and niece Oliver and Olivia Jones, and his girlfriend Siobhan DiGangi.
Everyone is invited to celebrate the amazing life of Jaeger on Tuesday, October 24, at 4:00pm at the Valley Wide Recreation Center in San Jacinto, Ca.
