

Kyong Ae West was born on August 22, 1930. A daughter of Byung Won and Soon Hee Lee in Kyonggi Do, South Korea. In 1956, she immigrated from Seoul to the states and resided in Los Angeles County for the subsequent two decades. She took on various jobs, before finding her niche as a seamstress. During this period, Kyong relocated her mother and four younger brothers and their families from Korea and helped them settle in the country. In 1968, she bought her first home in Long Beach marking a pivotal achievement in her life.
In 1972, Kyong met Richard, and in 1975, they became husband and wife. For the next ten years, they made their home in Long Beach, eventually moving to Huntington Beach in 1985. Kyong and Richard retired to Canyon Lake in 1992, where they enjoyed activities like golfing, boating, fishing, and hosting family gatherings. Her favorite pastimes included taking walks, sewing, gardening, cooking and watching baseball. In 2020, Kyong relocated to Orange County to be closer to family and lived with her niece, Carole and husband Jarrod.
Kyong is survived by her brothers Hwan Ki Lee and Tae Ki Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Richard West in 2004 as well as her parents and brothers, Chul Ki Lee and Chong Gi Lee.
