There are not enough words to summarize Leslie! I don’t think I will ever meet someone so small, yet full of SO much personality, sass, humor, and determination. Leslie- it was truly an honor knowing you and being your doctor all these years. We have shared many hard conversations but we have had some good laughs as well. I learned so much from you. Not just because of your unique medical history but from you as a person- your strength to endure, your independence and resilience were like none other. I would always have to tell other doctors- if she doesn’t talk to you or pretends she doesn’t understand you- don’t be fooled, she either doesn’t like you or doesn’t want to be bothered by you. They would all laugh and then come back and share with me how impressed they were by you.  And of course, when I have to contact specialists in Texas, it turns out they already knew you! You had the ability to make a lasting impression on anyone who has known you or cared for you. 
I will miss you, Leslie. ❤️

Oh, Leslie… I’m sorry for what happened to you. I know you’re listening to all of our cries. I wish this did not happen as others wish the same. I wish you were still here physically, but thankfully you are here in other forms. You’ll never be forgotten. I will remember all the times we had together even if it was, what felt like, a brief moment of time I got to know you. It was more than a pleasure! It was a blessing. Please stay in peace and check in on us from time to time. We’ll keep thinking about you.

Leslie, it was hard to know that you left. You were very sassy, helpful, thoughtful, generous, and importantly, special. I know that you were such a fighter through this difficult journey. To the person who helped shaped me into the person I am today. Thank you for being the friend and confidante I needed in a time of change and growth. I hope you are at peace. I miss you. Please accept my deepest condolences for Leslie’s family. Sending you my prayers.

I was Leslie's school bus driver for at least 3 years, when she attended Enchanted hills elementary.  She was my go-to helper  on the bus with 
my hearing impaired  students  as well as my Spanish speaking parents because she could speak three languages. English, Spanish and Sign language. She was the smartest little kid I've ever come across in my entire career as a school bus driver.  So needless to say when she was absent from school I really missed her help. When she went to the sixth grade that meant that she would not be on my school bus anymore so I cried a little but was happy that she was going forward into a higher grade.  I had two Leslies on my school bus, she was called my" Big  Leslie" because she was older.  She will definitely be missed.  My sincere condolences to her mom and dad and her siblings and  her entire family, of course. Heaven has gained another angel, rest in peace my smart little student. Ms. Pat will really really miss you. 💕

Initially, one could conclude that Leslie was quiet and shy, but she was far from that. She was sassy, strong, caring, and funny. Though she faced many daily challenges, she did not let any of those challenges impede her from doing what she wanted to do. A great memory with Leslie was when I lifted her up to dance at her Quinceañera; she had the biggest smile on her face! Leslie really exhibited strength and resilience these past couple of years and I couldn’t have been more proud of her. She is already greatly missed, but I know she's dancing right now and smiling down on us.

Leslie is a amazing person. I didn't talk to her much, because her friends is more important to her.  So I see Leslie over past 4 years in school (middle school and hight school.  and I talked with her sometimes, but I could talk her much because her friends is more important to her.

I want say that Leslie is a amazing person, when she was at March middle school when she is 7 grade, and see her smell at her friends, and she always loved to hangout with her friends. she is very nicer person, and amazing. She always enjoys play with her friends. She always handouts with her friends and her friends playing around with her and nicer people. And when she move to high school in Rancho Verde, she doing same things always played and enjoyed with her friends at school and she making new friends in n school And She want spending more time with her friends, family's, cousin and anyone out there. those people who is very nicer and amazing person playing and care with Leslie

I wanted to express my deepest condolence to Leslie's family. I was Leslie's World History teacher her sophomore year. This also happened to be my first year of teaching which made it a very difficult and uncertain time. Leslie was one of those students who would just brighten your day.  She was a creative, bright, and loving soul.  During teacher appreciation week, Leslie gave me a beautiful gift full of personalized crafts she had made herself. I was both impressed and grateful that she thought of me to create something very special. I will forever cherish the personalized cup she made for me. 

Leslie had a huge impact on the staff and students at RVHS and her memories will be kept alive through all of us. May she rest in peace and may the family find comfort during this difficult time.

I am forever thankful to be part of your amazing life! Thank you for opening up to me and trusting me, you helped me see life in a different lens! All the messages, texts, pictures, laughs and mostly importantly tears of love I will hold in my heart forever!

My Leslie, I will cherish all our moments, me laying on your bed that was always so clean and smelling sooo good. Me telling you I will hug you and not let go of you. You being mean to me as you hid under the blankets and then would peek at me and roll your eyes in love!  You getting mad because I wouldn't come see you because I was too dirty to come in your room. You teaching me not to worry about things because heaven is the place we really wanna go. Oh and let's not forget you trying to get everyone to think you don't talk and are mean when in reality you are so freaking smart you talk  and know sign language!! And you aren't mean you just don't give bad people any energy and thank you for teaching me that! Letting me in your life and cherishing the amazing ,loving  and genuine bond we have!

Leslie, it was hard to know that you left! Although we have not talked too much in the past 5 years but I do know that you were such a fighter throughout this long and difficult journey. I really respect your strong will and determination in every step of the journey. You will be missed, Leslie, specially every time I use the cup that you gifted to me. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your past 5 years. Our heart and prayers go out for Saida and family!

Our deepest condolences, Leslie was such a joy, her carisma was able to light up any room she stepped into. I will forever treasure the time she wanted to ride my jeep and spend the night at my house. As Dereck was getting her off the jeep he accidentally hit her head. She laughed and got him in trouble. The following day she wanted to ride 4wheelers with Dereck to Dereck was driving her around. She will forever be missed!!!!! She was such a warrior!!!

What a strong young lady! It was a HONOR to be one of her nurses. I treasure the few moments she spoke to me or I witnessed her having a good day and her beautiful smile. She will live on in my heart and I’m thankful that she’s walking around in Heaven with Jesus. Praying 🙏  for God’s strength, peace, and comfort for you Saida and your whole family.

Leslie was a special girl who captured all of our hearts. She had so much fight, bravery, and strength in her tiny little body. I’ve never met someone so brave. I will Always remember our conversation at her last admission on the unit. She told me she was ready to go to heaven and not be in pain anymore. I cried and hugged her. She then asked me for pizza and made me laugh. The bravest girl I will ever know. Being your nurse was the biggest privilege. I will carry your strength with me always sweet girl. 

Leslieeee, Im gonna miss you so much. I’m gonna miss receiving text messages, I’m gonna miss your FaceTime calls. And most of all I’m gonna miss convincing your mom to let you sleep over my house. Thank you for all the good talks we had. You left me and my kids with beautiful memories. You are now resting, with no pain. You fought until your very last breath. You were such a strong person and never gave up. You are now our angel. Take care of us all from above 🕊️❤️. Love you lots Lesss come visit me soon ! 

Lesile, you are such a good, sweet, caring, and loving friend i ever met and i couldn’t imagine how i lose u and i will walk to the graduation stage and ima look in the sky and tell u that i made it and your friends family made it too!

I didn’t get know her that much. I wish I would but she made me laugh all the time. It made me happy and she always check on me when something happened. 


I will never forget this memory of her! It was around Christmas time. In the almost 5 years of caring for her she never really talked or smiled! This day she was super happy with smiles and talked to all her nurses and doctors. She made us a personalized water cup and was so happy and excited to give us this special gift! Little did she know that her actual gift was her smile and her conversations 
with us!

 You will be missed!

Leslie was such a trickster! I didn't even know she could talk for many months before one day, she said "I just don't talk until I feel like it." The sass on her, I'll never forget. It was a blessing to be her nurse, she always made the day pass by quickly. Now she's ringing her bell and running in heaven. You will be missed Leslie. But God has got you now. ❤️
