

She was born on August 16, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Wallace and Emma (King) Raney. She married the love of her life, Jerome C. Schlabowske on December 9, 1962 and remained a widow after his death on May 28, 1989.
Mary held several jobs over her lifetime. She worked for Northrop Grumman in her younger years where she met a group of ladies who would go on to become lifelong friends. She also worked as a police dispatcher in Casa Grande, AZ, hotel management with her husband Jerry and eventually retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1998.
She was actively involved in several churches, sang in the choir and devoted her time to feeding the homeless. She loved cooking, entertaining, dancing, spoiling her numerous pets and spending time with her family and friends any chance she could.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Jerry, her siblings Millard, Violet and Linda, grandson Nathan Nylander and great grandson Tyler Hoogstra.
Left to cherish her memory are her 11 children. Mark Gibson(Lori) of Whittier, CA, Jeff Schlabowske (Vannessa) of Lake Elsinore, CA, Kimberley Baker (Mark) of Menifee, CA, Andrea Dalton of Gobles, MI, Leon Schlabowske (Leanna) of Pearl, IL, Rodney Schlabowske (Becky) of Chatsworth, IL, Donna Offill of Centralia, IL, Debbie Weber (Robert) of Wendell, NC, Dave Schlabowske (Judy) of Pontiac, IL, Mary Grant of Ormond Beach, FL and Teresa Antwine of Overland, MO. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren and that number continues to grow.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 9:15 am.
