Patricia Randolph Judd, age 86, passed peacefully at home on the morning of May 30, 2025. Born at home to the late Teresa Adams and Robert Randolph on January 10, 1939, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, Patricia was the seventh of eight surviving children born to Teresa and Robert. The Randolph family left Bloomfield and moved to Newark, New Jersey only to eventually settle in Montclair, New Jersey during Patricia’s school years where she graduated from Montclair High School.
The expression, “you only have one job to do,” applied to Patricia. After high school she took a position with New Jersey Bell when the “Baby Bells” handled telecom, which later became what is now known as Verizon. She started as an Operator and eventually promoted to the Supervisor of the department that provided the “white pages” to households’ in the Essex County telephone area. Through the telecom consolidation process, she was offered an early retirement package and jumped at the opportunity, spending about 30 years in retirement.
Patricia was a traveler who ventured to Hawaii, many Caribbean Islands but mostly her beloved Bermuda. She developed lasting friendships and would spend time with her Bermudian friends enjoying the perfect “Rum Swizzle”. Later in life she began cruising the Caribbean with her two sisters and enjoying time in casinos along the way. Something that became quite profitable for her over the years.
In 1997 she took a leap of faith upon the suggestion of her sister Ardesta and moved to California. The “sisters” purchased a home in Murrieta and the rest as they say is history. She lived out a happy retirement in a warmer climate with her sisters, often hosting friends and relatives who would fly out to see them.
Our dear Aunt Pat was predeceased by her parents Teresa Adams and Robert Randolph, brothers; Robert, Frederick, Richard (Pop), Harry (Charlie), and Carl, sisters; Teresa Smith and Ardesta Alexander; nieces Muriel Randolph, Tyhira Zahir, and nephews; Frederick Randolph Jr, and Robert Carl Randolph. She is survived by her nieces Tyra Quail, Rhonda Peters-Titus, Doreen Zebarth, Dacier Randolph, and nephews Mark Peters, James Paul Smith, and David Randolph, along with a host of extended family and friends.
