Pedro Soto-Ortega

Pedro was born on July 1, 1951, in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, to his parents Celia Ortega and Carlos Soto, both from Sonora. Pedro grew up in Cananea, Sonora, where he was raised by his mother Celia and his grandparents Anita and Lucio Ortega, whom he adored very much. Pedro had a total of 5 siblings (Lucila, Francisco, Georgina, Guadalupe, and Lucio), and today, there are 3 siblings who still reside in Cananea, Sonora Mexico.

At the young age of 20, with only a 6th grade level of education, he made the decision to come to the US where he made a life settling in Los Angeles, California. Pedro met Lilia Valenzuela his first relationship and they had 2 children, daughter Anita Soto and son Pedro Soto Jr (Chapo.)

In 1972, Pedro met Rose M. Montaño with whom he had his 3rd child, Pedro Soto Jr. (Peter.) Pedro and Rose married on November 20, 1976, and their family grew with 3 more children, Celia Isabel Soto, David Soto, and Lucila Nataleigh Soto They moved to South Gate in 1981, where they raised their children.

Pedro took pride working in the construction industry as an independent finisher for almost 40 years. He was well known in the business for his skills, built/ strength and professional way of doing his job. Pedro also took pride in leaving his mark at any job site where his colleagues would be amazed at his strength and drive to complete a job with high standards.

Pedro was a reserved and unique man to say the least. However, when he opened his heart to a friendship, you knew he genuinely felt a friendship amongst each other. He was also a man of integrity, honesty, loyalty, nurturing, caring, handworker, and a provider and a protector, to say the least.

Through his timidness, Pedro showed his love for others the best way he could.

Pedro Soto - Ortega will be missed tremendously by his loved ones. His legacy will live on through his wife Rose, his 6 children and 17 grandchildren. His love and memories will forever live through his family, friends, and those who knew him.

A visitation for Pedro will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Miller-Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, CA 92585. A graveside service will occur Monday, April 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Miller-Jones Mortuary And Crematory, Sun City, 26770 Murrieta Rd, Menifee, CA 92585.
